Sungai Serabek Village Government Urges Residents to Keep Their Civil Registration Documents in Order
The village government is asking residents to complete and update their civil registration documents, in line with the Indonesia Sadar Adminduk movement promoted by the Sambas Regency civil registry office.
SUNGAI SERABEK – The Sungai Serabek Village Government is calling on all residents to take greater care of their civil registration (population administration, or Adminduk). The appeal is in line with the efforts of the Sambas Regency Government, through its Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), to build a community that understands the importance of civil registration documents.
Civil registration is about more than owning an electronic identity card (KTP-el) or a family card (KK). Behind each of these documents lies a resident's right to public services, from health care, education, social assistance and banking to other government services.
In recent months, the Sambas Regency Government and Disdukcapil have stepped up the Indonesia Sadar Administrasi Kependudukan movement (GISA) through outreach activities and mobile services that come directly to the villages. The programme aims to make it easier for people to obtain their documents and to raise awareness of why population data must be complete, accurate and kept up to date.
The Sungai Serabek Village Government welcomes the programme and urges all residents not to delay updating their documents when their details change, such as after a birth, a death, a move, a change in marital status or any other change of identity.
"Civil registration documents are every citizen's official identity. We invite all residents of Sungai Serabek to make sure every member of their family has complete documents that reflect their actual circumstances. Accurate data makes it easier for the government to provide fast, appropriate and fair services to the community," said the Head of Sungai Serabek Village.
Besides making public services easier to access, accurate population data is also the basis for planning development programmes. It shows the government the real situation of the community, so that social assistance, health care, education and community empowerment programmes can be better targeted.
Residents keeping their data up to date is also an important part of supporting village development. When population records are current, the village government has a more reliable basis for development planning, budgeting and designing programmes that meet people's actual needs.
Residents who do not yet have their documents, or who find errors in their data, can ask the Sungai Serabek Village Government for information and assistance with the procedures under the applicable regulations. They can also use the services provided by the Sambas Regency Disdukcapil, including the mobile services held regularly at district and village level.
The Sungai Serabek Village Government hopes that growing public awareness of civil registration will lead to ever more accurate population data, so that every government programme, whether at village, regency or national level, can run effectively and reach the right people.
Let us all take care of our civil registration by making sure every family member has complete and correct documents, and updating them whenever our details change.
